Education and Training

As a unique practitioner, Diana is a hybrid of counselor and hypnotherapist. Most people who practice hypnotism do not hold a Master’s degree nor have experience or education in the health field. Diana has a Master of Arts degree in Psychology, a Master of Science degree in Mental Health Counseling, a certification in Hypnotherapy, and thousands of hours of supervised experience.

She has used this body of knowledge to create a highly comprehensive system of personal transformation. Having these credentials has allowed her to enjoy the status of being a Certified Fellow in Clinical Hypnotherapy-Public Service by the National Board for Certified Clinical Hypnotherapists.

Diana is now a fully-credentialed Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor in the State of Illinois.

Why is Diana a Specialist?

The practice of hypnotism is not a regulated industry. Anyone can take a 3 weekend course, or a one-week intensive course, and get a certificate in hypnotism.

Counseling, on the other hand, requires a graduate degree, usually in mental health counseling, thousands of hours of supervised work with clients, a licensing exam, and a state-issued license. Criminal background checks are also required of counselors.

Counselors are not trained in hypnotism, and hypnotists are not counselors.

Diana is both a counselor and a hypnotherapist.

Diana has obtained training, education, and certification in both fields to make her one of the only mental health professionals in Illinois who is an expert in hypnotherapy.

Goal-Oriented

Being a goal-oriented practitioner, Diana uses many techniques in her therapy sessions to bring about wellness and transformation for her client. The client must be committed and willing to stay engaged in the process of change in order to achieve his desired outcome. Besides doing hypnotherapy in the office, clients are equipped with audio files for home use along with homework that keeps them active in their own process of change.

Martial Arts Influence

As a student of Aiki Ninjutsu and a prior student of Tae Kwon Do, Diana has integrated the ancient teachings and philosophies of the martial arts into her system. She learned how to use the power of focused concentration to push herself outside her comfort zone. The system that she created has proven to be more comprehensive and effective than any of the individual therapeutic techniques used alone.

Holistic Approach

Diana finds it critically important for her clients to understand themselves and how the mind/body connection works. The client has spent enough time feeling bad and he really just needs help to find the answers. Diana teaches the client how to create his pathway of health and well-being, and teaches him empowering tools for self-improvement. This is accomplished through awareness, choice, and outcome.
